![]() Whilst the mechanics themselves felt slow/clunky with the first few games ( Assassin’s Creed – Assassin’s Creed: Revelations), the system was initially revitalised with the release of Assassin’s Creed III in 2012, which introduced the ability to incorporate trees and other such parts of the natural environment into the player’s path whilst free-running, as the previous games had all mainly focused on more urban settings with the parkour mostly being based off of verticality.
